Vision: Imperfect people seeking a savior who transforms lives
2Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God--what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2 (NRSV)
4Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. 6Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7 (NRSV) |
Core Values: Rest Renew Serve Share
We are called to follow the ways of Jesus in words, thoughts and actions. Jesus modeled healthy, godly living. Jesus lived a life which was in a constant cycle between rest and renewal and servanthood and sharing. We, too, will follow his example of balanced living.
We have learned two things as we have been on our journey together. First, as we have take time to rest and renew, we have learned, "if you don't take time to rest and renew, you won't be the best at what you do." Second, as we have served and shared with our community, we have learned that "small things done with great love can change the world."
Rest (Matthew 11:28, Mark 6:31)
Renew (Romans 12:2, Isaiah 40:31, Luke 2:49)
Serve (Matthew 20:26-28, John 13:13-17)
Share (Matthew 28:19-20, Luke 24:47)

Tools for Our Core Values:
We use the word PoWeR SuRGe to help us remember the six marks of Christian living. PWR SRG is an acronym to help us remember each mark.
P = Prayer Daily (1 Thessalonians 5:16-19, Psalm 119:105)
W = Worship Weekly (Psalms 122:1, Hebrews 10:23-25)
R = Read Bible Daily (Psalms 119:105, Acts 2:42)
S = Serving God’s people (1 Corinthians 16:15, John 13:13-17)
R = Relationships with Believers (Mark 6:7, Matthew 18:20)
G = Giving Sacrificially (Malachi 3:10 & 2 Corinthians 9:7)
We believe that as we gather under our Core Values and live by Jesus’ example, our lives and the lives of those around us will be transformed by God’s love! This is our goal for us...and...for our community. Come Rejoice with us!

Give ‘em Heaven!
Pastor Tim Robertson
By God’s love, grace, and Spirit, we are working to plant this new church named Rejoice! on the west side of Sioux Falls.
*Rejoice! uses the word “Share,” where some other Christians might use the more churchy word “Evangelize”...which can be simply translated from the original Biblical language “to share God’s love.”
**The term PoWeR SuRGe comes from a book titled "PoWeR SuRGe", written by the Reverend Mike Foss, St. Marks Lutheran Church, West Des Moines, IA. |
